Carol A. Lin, MD

Carol A. Lin, MD current focus of research includes acetabular fractures, tibial non-unions and outcomes following hip and knee arthroplasty in HIV positive patients.  She has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Arthroplasty, the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.  She is an active member of several scholarly societies and professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Lin is a Southern California native, born and raised in Orange County.  She completed her undergraduate degrees in biological sciences and English literature at Stanford University.  She obtained her medical degree and master’s in clinical research at Washington University in St. Louis during which she spent a year in Malawi studying pediatric malnutrition.  Dr. Lin then completed her orthopaedic residency training at the University of California, San Francisco.  She was awarded a Young Investigator research grant from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation and completed a research fellowship at the University of Minnesota followed by a clinical fellowship in Orthopaedic Traumatology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center under the directorship of Donald Wiss, MD.
